Matcha animation
This matcha animation is a short creative video showcasing how to make a matcha latte in a fun and abstract way.
I chose to represent elements using only simple shapes. My challenge here was creating an engaging and understandable sequence when it was simplified. Giving each shape a label and a design accent gave personality and memorability to each asset. I utilized the principles of motion design to make the video more engaging.

Process and work
Listening to the paired song, the Mendhellsson Symphony No.3, I mapped out the natural rhythm of the instrumentals to the pacing of each ingredient and tool coming on screen, time stamping each movement to the highs and lows of the music and what movements “felt” the same as the song.
I then went into Adobe Illustrator and illustrated the shapes I had drawn digitally, and mapped it out sequentially by each scene. For each shape, I started with a circle to represent the ingredient or a tool used. Each circle then got its own treatment to give it more personality. For example, the bowl is comprised of two nesting circles, the smaller of the two being the bottom of the bowl, shaded to give it slight depth, like a bowl.
